Diploma thesis "Free movement of goods and integration of the Czech republic" deals with the matter of free movement of goods in the European internal market and studies the development of the Czech integration in this area during her association with the EU. The diploma thesis monitors the period 1989-2006 and aims to evaluate whether the process was continual during the period or if it changed. The diploma thesis also evaluates if there were some significant problems during the process of the integration and searches for their reasons. Diploma thesis decomposes the problem into several partial problems, of which the most important are: goods flows between Czech Republic and the EU (mostly territorial and commodity structure..), technical aspects (technical harmonization, standards and norms, law convergence), economic context (GDP, balance of payments, etc.).
Free Movement of Medical Devices

1 Abstract This thesis deals with the conflict between the interest in the free movement of medical devices and the interest in the protection of health and safety. It is divided into two main parts, with the first part focusing on the pre-market phase, i.e. the phase before a medical device is placed on the market. The first part consists of two chapters describing the historical development of the regulation of medical devices and its separation from the regulation of medicinal products, as well as the way in which medical devices enter the market and what they must fulfil in order to be freely traded across the Member States. In particular, this part addresses the question of whether this separation (i.e. the move away from the 'old approach' to the 'new approach') was a step in the right direction or a 'historical mistake'. The system of CE certification of medical devices based on the participation of external auditors - Notified Bodies - is thoroughly discussed. The second part of the paper is devoted to the post-market phase (after the medical device has been placed on the market). The focus is on two 'knot problems', i.e. areas where the interest in free movement and the interest in protecting health and safety collide in practice, namely border products and parallel trade (specifically issues...
The Importance of ECJ Case Law for the Free Movement of Goods on the EU Internal Market

The paper aims to embrace the establishment, development of rules and functioning of the freedom of movement of goods on the internal market of the EU and the impact which the European Court of Justice (ECJ) case law had in this domain and still has today. It opens with the description of the internal market and the freedom of movement of goods, the role of the internal market for the European integration, the development of this freedom in the context of the internal market development and basic characteristics of the freedom of movement of goods. Thereafter, the focus shifts to the legal rules of the internal market and freedom of movement of goods, to the CJEU as one of the main European institutions, its role, competences, composition and the different types of proceedings in front of this Court as well as the changes brought by the Lisbon Treaty. The final part is devoted to the analysis of the chosen ECJ decisions that are considered to be the most significant for the free movement of goods. The paper provides comprehensive overview of the topic implying that the ECJ case law played an important role in the domain of free movement of goods and significantly influenced its functioning.

Bachelor thesis Common Trade Policy of European Union with emphasis on relations with The Common Market of the South {--} MERCOSUR is split into six chapters. First three chapters consist of theoretical part that describe function of the World Trade Organization, Common Trade Policy of European Community and contract arrangement with chosen countries or integration arrangements. Center of this work is based on characteristic of origin and evolution of MERCOSUR including description of its institutional structure. Special emphasis is given on analysis of evolution of trade relations between European Union and MERCOSUR and common trade structure. A summary in Spanish and a trilingual glossary are included.
